LMARI KUURA™ is designed to become part of your long-term home sauna ritual. Crafted from Finnish soapstone and natural KIUASSUOLA™ Sauna Ritual Salt, it works together with heat, steam and natural materials to create a softer, calmer and more grounding sauna atmosphere.

Before Heating the Sauna

Place ILMARI KUURA™ on top of the sauna stones before heating the sauna.

For best results:

• Position the ritual base slightly away from the main water pouring area.
• With electric heaters, ensure the product does not touch the heating elements.
• With wood-fired heaters, do not place the product directly against the chimney or flue.
• Make sure the ritual base sits securely and evenly on the sauna stones.

The product may remain on the heater between sauna sessions.

During Sauna Bathing

Löyly water is poured normally onto the sauna stones, not directly onto ILMARI KUURA™.

Light splashing from surrounding sauna stones is sufficient to activate the KIUASSUOLA™ Sauna Ritual Salt naturally as part of the sauna ritual.

As sauna temperatures rise above approximately 70°C / 158°F, the mineral-rich sauna ritual salt gradually begins to interact with heat and moisture inside the sauna.

The experience develops gradually as part of the sauna ritual.

Between Löyly Cycles

Allow the soapstone base to warm up again between löyly cycles.

The interaction between heat, stone, moisture and sauna ritual salt works best when the ritual base has time to regain temperature between water applications.

A slower rhythm often creates the most enjoyable sauna experience.

Water Recommendations

Lukewarm water is recommended whenever possible.

Like all natural stone materials, Finnish soapstone may experience stress if repeatedly exposed to sudden and extreme temperature changes.

Avoid intentionally pouring large amounts of cold water directly onto the heated ritual base.

After Sauna Use

ILMARI KUURA™ may remain on the sauna heater after use.

Allow the product to cool naturally together with the sauna stones.

There is no need to remove the ritual base between sauna sessions unless cleaning is required.

Replacing Sauna Ritual Salt

One KIUASSUOLA™ Sauna Ritual Salt typically lasts approximately:

• Around 2 months when sauna bathing twice per week
• Longer with lighter sauna use
• Shorter with frequent sauna use

When the salt has gradually dissolved, simply replace it with a new KIUASSUOLA™ Sauna Ritual Salt refill.

Care and Cleaning

Natural mineral salt may occasionally leave small salt residues on the ritual base or nearby sauna stones.

If desired:

• Allow the sauna to cool completely.
• Remove the ritual base.
• Rinse the exterior surfaces with clean water.
• Allow the product to dry naturally before reuse.

Do not use detergents or chemical cleaners.
