Why on Earth Does a Finnish Sauna and Wellness Brand Have Its Own Salmiakki?
It all began when we were preparing for our first World Sauna Forum event.
We wanted to offer international sauna visitors something genuinely Finnish. Something memorable. Something that would spark conversations and leave a lasting impression of KIUASSUOLA™ long after the event.
And what could be more Finnish than salmiakki?
We decided to commission one special batch of our own strong, salty salmiakki.
We had hundreds of bags ready to sell throughout the summer and thought they would last through our events and other encounters.
But something unexpected happened.
The salmiakki disappeared from our shelves much faster than we imagined. People loved the little bags, bought them and eventually began asking if they could order more from our online shop.
What was originally intended as a one-time event product gradually became a permanent part of the KIUASSUOLA™ collection.
And the funniest part?
The idea of leaving a lasting impression worked just as well here in Finland.
Today, our Saunankävijän Suolainen Salmiakki has become a big little part of who we are. ❤️

Saunankävijän Suolainen Salmiakki is handmade in Finland.
Because it is an artisan product, the amount of filling and the balance between the shell and centre may vary slightly from one candy to another.
Not every piece is exactly alike – and that is part of its handcrafted character.
The product is gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. It also carries the Finnish Key Flag (Avainlippu), a mark recognising Finnish work and production.
