For generations, Finnish people have treasured the gifts of their forests, meadows and wetlands. Berries, leaves, flowers and wild herbs have been gathered for their flavours, aromas and many traditional uses.
We wanted to bring a little of this heritage into modern sauna moments and celebrations.
To create distinctive drinks where the flavours of Finnish nature meet sauna culture, togetherness and a touch of northern mystery.
This is how the world of KIUASSUOLA™ Artisan Sauna Drinks came to life.
HERTTA, MIELIKKI and HALLA are three different characters whose stories travel from the green abundance of summer through the autumn forest to the peaceful silence of northern winter.
Made in Kainuu, Finland, using Finnish berries and wild herbs, these artisan infusions contain no additives, tea leaves or caffeine.

As autumn approaches, the Finnish forest grows quieter and its aromas seem to deepen.
Blueberries ripen among the undergrowth, pine trees fill the air with their familiar scent and nature slowly prepares for another season.
In Finnish folklore, Mielikki is known as the mistress of the forest.
She belongs to the world of ancient poetry, hidden forest paths and the mysterious forces of nature.
That same atmosphere inspired our MIELIKKI sauna drink.
Blueberry, pine needles, fireweed leaves and yarrow flowers create a distinctive forest-inspired flavour. A little sugar softens the herbal notes.

HALLA – The Silence of the Northern Winter
HALLA – The Silence of the North
The Sauna Drink of a Northern Winter Spirit.
Northern winter has a silence of its own.
Frost-covered forests, crisp winter air and the stillness of a snowy landscape make the world feel different for a moment.
In Finnish poetry, frost has sometimes taken on mythical qualities.
The poet Julius Krohn described “halla harmajapää” – grey-headed frost – while Eino Leino's poetry includes “Halla harmaja emäntä”, an image of frost as a grey mistress.
These poetic images and the mysterious atmosphere of northern winter inspired HALLA's own winter-spirit character.
Its refreshing flavour combines tart cranberry, aromatic blackcurrant leaves, raspberry leaves and peppermint.
Served warm, HALLA brings a little northern winter atmosphere to the moment after sauna. Chilled, it becomes a refreshing drink for celebrations.

After Sauna, at the Table or Among Friends
KIUASSUOLA™ Artisan Sauna Drinks are prepared by steeping the blends in hot water, much like herbal tea.
All three can be enjoyed warm or chilled and served over ice.
For a festive drink, add sparkling water or sparkling wine to the cooled infusion.
Honey or sugar can be added to suit your taste. Choose sugar instead of honey for a vegan option.
How to Prepare

Add 2 teaspoons of the drink blend to 200 ml of hot water.

Let steep for approximately 15 minutes.

Strain and enjoy warm, or cool and serve over ice.
Each package makes approximately 1.3 litres of prepared drink.
Ingredients at a Glance
HERTTA: Raspberry, raspberry leaf, heather flower, fireweed flower.
MIELIKKI: Blueberry, sugar, fireweed leaf, pine needles, yarrow flower.
HALLA: Cranberry, blackcurrant leaf, raspberry leaf, peppermint.
Please note: MIELIKKI contains yarrow, which may cause allergic reactions and is not recommended during pregnancy. It also contains natural resin from pine needles.
All three are made in Kainuu, Finland, and carry the Finnish Key Flag (Avainlippu), a certification of Finnish work and origin.
